RentSawa was born out of a simple frustration — collecting rent in Kenya was unnecessarily complicated. Chasing tenants for payments, manually tracking who has paid via M-Pesa, sending individual WhatsApp reminders. There had to be a better way.

The Problem We Solve

Kenya has millions of rental units, most managed by individual landlords who rely on M-Pesa. Yet the tools available to them were either too expensive, too complicated, or built for Western markets with no M-Pesa integration.

Landlords were spending hours every month matching M-Pesa transactions to tenants, calling defaulters one by one, and keeping records in notebooks or Excel sheets. Tenants had no visibility into their payment history or lease details.

RentSawa fixes all of that — automatically.

What "Sawa" Means

"Sawa" means okay, alright, sorted in Swahili. When rent is collected, receipts sent, and records updated automatically — that's the feeling. Rent? Sawa.
